Roaring Year of Tiger

This is a common view inside one of the most popular shopping complexes in Johor Bahru that we had visited last wednesday. The shopping complex is normally busy during weekend whenever the local people and people from neighbouring city especially Singaporeans come to shop, dine or watch movies.

The entire area of the shopping complex has been nicely decorated with the chinese traditional red lantern, banners and other decorative items that resemble the upcoming new year celebration. Generally speaking, most operators of shopping complexes throughout Malaysia will develop decorative themes that represent or bring out the mood of the upcoming event or celebrations such as Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Aidiladha, Christmas, Deepavali, Chinese New Year celebrations etc.

Economically, most of Chinese Malaysian business owners are optimistic about the economy during the coming Year of Tiger. Most of the shops in the shopping complex have been newly refurbished and we note that some of the previously empty lots have already been occupied by new tenants.
