Let's set aside about the above deal and talk about how we can get the full benefit out of the famous slogan 'Now everyone can fly' by Air Asia.
Interestingly enough, the low cost carrier may not help you saving cost if you are not able to plan the entire journey in advanced as well as understanding the terms and conditions as stipulated by the carrier company.
Our experience in flying with the low cost carrier is that in order to minimise our travelling cost, a thorough planning before and during the trip is really important. If you are thinking of saving your bucks for more journeys to come rather than spending unnecessarily just for one journey, the following tips may be worthy of consideration.
- Do advance booking for the air ticket a few months before your journey so that you won't miss the low price being offered by the Air Asia. The ticket price will get higher and higher towards the flight schedule.
- Upgrade the extra baggage if you plan to shop or carry extra items during arrival or departures. It's quite common that we need extra weight upon leaving the visited country if you shop heavily during your visit. You will be charge heavily for any extra baggage of more than the allowable weight of 15kg. In order to avoid that, you can upgrade extra weight of up to 50kg on returning journey and pay a minimum sum as compared to the penalty charges on excess baggage. Keep your hand luggage handy just in case if your baggage exceeding the limit, you could bring extra baggage of up to 7kg to the passenger's cabin at no extra cost.
- Pay for the extra meal during the flight for long journey. The meal price will be much lower if paid during the reservation time as compared to the price during the flight.
